What is Dogecoin (DOGE)?
Dogecoin (DOGE) is a cryptocurrency created as a fork (clone) of the Litecoin codebase. Based on the well admired “Doge” internet meme, Dogecoin features the face of the Shiba Inu dog as its logo and namesake. The open-source digital currency was created with the notion of being a fun, light-hearted cryptocurrency that would have greater appeal beyond the primary Bitcoin audience. Despite its satirical nature, it has since developed a vast online community and is now considered a legitimate investment prospect amongst various parts of the cryptocurrency space.
What is (MATIC)?
MATIC is an ERC-20 token that powers Polygon; a protocol for developing and connecting Ethereum-compatible blockchain networks. Polygon is a layer 2 (L2) scaling solution designed to improve the overall adoption of the Ethereum blockchain. This scaling solution supports a complete multi-chain ecosystem, ensuring that there is interoperability amongst one another and the Ethereum network.
The MATIC token powers all transactions and smart contracts on the Polygon network, in the same way Ether (Ethereum’s token) powers all transactions on the Ethereum network.
