How to create a personal account with Independent Reserve

Creating a personal account with Independent Reserve is easy. It takes less than five minutes to sign up and begin trading cryptocurrency.

Before you get started

In order to speed up the registration process, there are a few documents and personal details you will need to provide. These include:

• Full Name
• Email address
• Date of birth
• Home address
• Phone number
• Proof of address (Accepted documents include bank statements, utility bills (Gas, water, rates) or Government-issued documents (e.g. ATO, vehicle registration, etc.)
• Photo ID / Proof of identity (Driver’s licence, passport and a combination of selfie photos/videos.)

Please note: While you don’t need to provide all of your identity documents at the point of registration, you will need to be verified if you wish to withdraw funds from your account.

How to create a personal account

1. Go to Create Account or download the Android or iOS app

 

2. Enter a Username, Email, and Password and select Account type: Personal

 

3. Review our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy and acknowledge you have read them.

 

4. Enter the Confirmation code emailed to you.

 

5. Proceed to Identity verification

 

6. Select your country of residence, enter your First and Last name, Date of birth and Home address.
   In most cases, we are able to instantly verify clients from the following countries.

Please note: Be sure to enter your name as it appears on your legal ID. For example, if your name is Samuel, do not enter “Sam”.

 

7. Enter your mobile Phone number, click Send code and verify your number.

 

8. (Optional) Set up Two-factor authentication (2FA). Learn about 2FA.

 

9. Select your Account purpose in the drop-down box and your Source of income.

NOTE: At this point, you’ll be able deposit and trade crypto. However, you’ll be required to complete full verification of your identity to remove some of the restrictions on your account.

10. Upload a clear photo of yourself holding a Government-issued photo ID such as a passport or driver licence with a piece of paper that displays today’s date and the words “Independent Reserve“. Both the document and yourself must be clearly visible.

11. Upload a close-up photo of the front and back of your Government-issued ID provided in the last step

Note: Make sure that the photo is complete and clearly visible. This is only required if you have a change of address sticker or a New Zealand licence.

 

13. Upload a proof of address document:

Note: 

• The proof of address must be less than 6 months old

• Phone bills and PO boxes are NOT accepted

• Accepted documents include bank statements, utility bills (Gas, water, rates) or Government-issued documents (e.g. ATO letter, vehicle registration letter, etc.)

 

14. Carefully review all details. Once you have confirmed all details are correct (or modified the details as necessary), Select “I confirm all the details are correct” and proceed.

 

Verification submitted; what happens next?

1. Please allow 24 hours for our team to assess your application.
2. You will receive a support message if our verification team requires further documentation or clarification.
3. Once your personal account is fully verified, you will receive a confirmation email and you’ll be able to deposit, withdraw, and trade.
